Well, my work on the bad weather (Cold/Rain) continued on and off till mid
February. This was my first fiberglass work, and I learned as I went.
The plan to place a lip on the entire rear edge wasn't possible, as the top
was a little too short in length. So I added the returns outboard of
the roll bar where I could. I was going to use some plywood as the
returns base, but had to step up to a larger more solid piece of wood, based
on the areas size and more secure attachment. I also drilled the holes
and installed 6 nuts for the future rear Lexan panel that would provide a
better air tight rear. I made a template for while I was doing this
work. I painted the interior the gloss Tan, and used the U-Pol Raptor
Bed Liner to coat the outside and rear wrap around area. While I was
spraying the Raptor, I also coated my MegaCab's tail gate that I had
installed to replace the previous owners damaged one. For the front of
the hard top I replaced the seal, and installed a couple of window latches
to secure it. All in all, it looks very good, I still need to get the
soft door uppers re-sewn, but I can now venture out in the cold or wet and
stay dry and warm. 2014-02-15 |
